5 Things to Add to Your Living Room to Make It Look Amazing
Are you bored with your living room? Is it in need of a makeover? If so, you should love this list of 5 things to add to your living room to make it look amazing.
Getting your Living Space right can make such a huge amount of difference to your mood and these 5 things will help you improve your space magnificently.
Create Greater Warmth and Add Mirrors
So many people are unaware of the impact a mirror can have on the wall. It's almost impossible for a mirror to look bad in space.
Mirrors bring light into the room and this creates warmth, which means that you create a space that is comfortable and cosy.
Try to choose a mirror that fits in with the style of the room. For example, if you live in a country Cottage, go for something with a wooden Edge, but if you live in a designer property, consider something like a sheet mirror.
Another great tip for adding warmth to the room without distracting from the interior design is to install foil underfloor heating. This will create a lovely ambience in the room and means that you can remove the radiator, and therefore free up space for the extra mirror!
The best thing about foil underfloor heating is that it feels amazing when you walk on the floor and the Heat distribution feels so much better than a radiator. It's definitely something worth investigating if you haven't considered it already.
Velvet Can Add Class
If you go too far with velvet, it can look crass and overdone, but a few velvet additions to your living room can actually make it look a lot classier. Velvet sofas are definitely the way forward if you want to create a sophisticated look, but remember, if you do opt for this, nothing else in the room should be velvet or you will overdo it.
Alternatively, if the velvet sofa feels too much, just use a few velvet pillows. The use of different textures in your interior design will help to bring the room to life and make it look much better.
Expensive Sofas Are the Way Forward
Yes, we know, nobody wants to part with their cash, but a high-quality sofa will massively transform your living room. A high-quality sofa will set you back around £1,000 or more. It is a lot of money, but what you get for that money is an incredible look.
Personally, I suggest looking at places such as Marks and Spencer's and Laura Ashley. They have such beautiful sofas and you can sometimes find them on sale, all by ex-display models.
Contrast Colours
Contrasting colours can really help to balance out a room and make it pop with elegance. Make sure that you choose complementary colours, and consult a colour wheel to make sure you're doing this properly.
Make Sure the Curtains Are the Right Length
Too many people choose the wrong length curtains for their living rooms. If there too long, it will just look maths. I made this mistake when I bought a property with bay windows. I bought curtains that fall all the way to the floor. Don't do this. Your curtains should fall to the windowsill at most.
Follow these tips and you will help to make your living room that little bit classier.
